BIOSIS Previews

BIOSIS Previews cover biology, botany, zoology, physiology and biochemistry, and contain summaries of scientific papers (Biological Abstracs) from more than 5000 international journals. Additionally, RRM (Reports, Reviews, Meetings) covers references from meetings, reports, book reviews, articles and books.


Helmintholoigical Abstracts is a reference database with summaries of scientific articles within helminthology. It covers taxonomy, biology, pathology, immunology, diagnosis, epidemiology, treatment and control of helminths parasitic on humans, domestic animals and wild animals (Monogenea, Aspidogastra, Digenea, Cestoda, Acanthocephala, Nematoda).

Review of Plant Pathology is a reference database containing summaries of scientific articles on plant pathogenic fungi (including production, control and toxic effects of mycotoxins), viruses, bacteria, phytoplasmas, and spiroplasmas, and covers pathogen biology from genetics to geographical distributions. The database covers plant diseases and disease control.


GeoRef contains references within earth science, and covers the fields of mineralogy, crystallography, geochemistry, geology, engineering, petrology, oceanography, paleontology, geophysics, seismology, hydrology and geopmorphology. The database covers abstracts of scientific papers, books, theses, reports and maps.


PubMed is a database covering life sciences and biomedical topics. The database contains book and article references, and is is maintained by the United States National Library of Medicine (NLM) at the National Institutes of Health. It is part of the Entrez system of information retrieval. PubMed provides Medical Subject Headings (MeSH), a standardized vocabulary for the life sciences. This allows for efficient, precise and, when necessary, exhaustive searching. MeSH can furthermore be used as a thesaurus. Around 40000 articles are added each month.

Zoological Record

Zoological Record covers all research within zoological and animal science literature, from biochemistry to veterinary medicine. The collection contains references from journals, books, meetings, reviews and other non-serial literature.
